A Autotask MCP server, so Claude can work with your Autotask data

Kaseya Autotask PSA holds tickets, companies, contacts, time entries, projects and configuration items for many MSPs. An MCP server lets Claude query and update that data through the Autotask REST API, using an API-only user you control.

Status: no official server yet

As of 30 October 2026, Kaseya does not publish an official MCP server for Autotask PSA; community servers exist (for example from WYRE and tphakala).

MCP support changes quickly. Re-check Kaseya’s developer documentation and announcements before you build or buy.

What Claude could do with it

These 10 tools cover the common work MSPs do in Autotask. Each one maps to a single REST endpoint.

ToolREST endpointWhat it does
find_ticketsPOST /V1.0/Tickets/queryFind tickets with a filter (status, queue, company and so on).
get_ticketGET /V1.0/Tickets/{id}Read one ticket.
create_ticketPOST /V1.0/TicketsCreate a ticket.
update_ticketPATCH /V1.0/TicketsUpdate ticket fields.
add_ticket_notePOST /V1.0/Tickets/{id}/NotesAdd a note to a ticket.
find_companiesPOST /V1.0/Companies/queryLook up companies.
find_contactsPOST /V1.0/Contacts/queryLook up contacts.
log_time_entryPOST /V1.0/TimeEntriesRecord time worked.
find_projectsPOST /V1.0/Projects/queryLook up projects.
find_configuration_itemsPOST /V1.0/ConfigurationItems/queryLook up configuration items (devices and assets).

Paths come from Kaseya’s public API documentation. The exact endpoints, fields and final tool list are confirmed in writing at scoping, against your account.

Authentication

Autotask uses the REST API v1.0. The server first discovers your zone with GET https://webservices.autotask.net/atservicesrest/v1.0/zoneInformation?user=<api user>, which returns the zone URL to use for every other request.

Each request carries three headers: ApiIntegrationCode, UserName and Secret, belonging to an API-only user.

Honest limits

How you’d connect it

The server runs two ways: locally over stdio, started with npx, or remotely over Streamable HTTP at a URL on your own host. The commands below use placeholders; your README has the real package name, URL and variables. NOLU does not run a shared hosted Autotask server.

Claude Code

# remote (Streamable HTTP)
claude mcp add --transport http autotask https://<your-host>/mcp

# local (stdio)
claude mcp add autotask -e AUTOTASK_USERNAME=<value> -e AUTOTASK_SECRET=<value> -e AUTOTASK_INTEGRATION_CODE=<value> -- npx -y <your-server-package>

Claude Desktop

For a remote server, add the URL https://<your-host>/mcp as a custom connector. For a local server, add it to claude_desktop_config.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "autotask": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "<your-server-package>"],
      "env": {
        "AUTOTASK_USERNAME": "<value>",
        "AUTOTASK_SECRET": "<value>",
        "AUTOTASK_INTEGRATION_CODE": "<value>"
      }
    }
  }
}

Cursor

In .cursor/mcp.json (project) or ~/.cursor/mcp.json (global):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "autotask": { "url": "https://<your-host>/mcp" }
  }
}

Variable names above are examples. Keep credentials in local config or your host’s secret store, never in the repository.

Questions

Is there an official Autotask MCP server?

As of 30 October 2026, Kaseya does not publish an official MCP server for Autotask PSA; community servers exist (for example from WYRE and tphakala). This changes quickly, so check Kaseya’s developer documentation before you decide.

Why does the server look up a zone first?

Autotask tenants live in different zones. The zoneInformation request returns the right base URL for your API user, so the server does not need a hard-coded host.

Why not use a community server?

You can, and for a quick test it may be enough. A custom build gives you a tool list scoped to your workflows, tests, install docs and a private repository you own. Whichever you use, review what it can read and write before you give it credentials.

What does it cost and how do we start?

Starter is US$1,500 (about 5 business days, up to 10 tools, API-key/token auth). Standard is US$3,000 (about 7–10 business days, up to 25 tools, OAuth 2.1, hosted).
