Happy Mile Logistics
Their fleet performance report went from a manual build every two weeks to live information, reviewed daily by the operations team.
The challenge at Happy Mile
Happy Mile runs transport and logistics from Houston with a fleet of 150 operators. An operation that size produces numbers every day, and decisions depend on those numbers.
All of that tracking was done by hand: the operation's numbers, how much fuel had been spent, everything. The performance report that was supposed to provide visibility rested on one person, took up to four days of work, and was due every two weeks. Many times it simply did not get done.
The result: operating decisions made on old data, or on no data at all.
NOLU's approach
NOLU built a fleet performance platform shaped around Happy Mile's operation. Claude was the development tool through the entire build.
In the final product, Claude operates as the agent that guides the user inside the platform and runs the reasoning over the data: the specific performance calculations and the interpretation of results run on Claude, not on fixed rules.
What cost the most
It was not the technical side. It was agreeing on definitions: what each concept in the report meant, exactly. Aligning those definitions with the Happy Mile team took more conversations than any code decision, and it holds everything else up. A perfect calculation on an ambiguous definition is still a useless number.
Delivery to production and adoption
A system reaching production and people using it every day are two different claims. Both are true here.
- Production
- The platform was implemented in eight weeks and has been in production since April 2026.
- Adoption
- All 27 people in the operations department use it. The performance report went from sporadic to daily.
Business impact
Up to 16 hours per week of manual work eliminated: building the performance report took up to four days (32 hours) every two weeks, resting on one person.
The report went from coming out every two weeks to being live and reviewed daily.
One more benefit, an invaluable one: real-time visibility and transparency across the operation.
